Slavery to Sin or to Righteousness

Romans 6:15-23

6
Chapter 6
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it not be! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves for obedience, to him you are slaves whom you obey—whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you were slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart the pattern of teaching to which you were handed over, 18 But having been freed from sin, you were enslaved to righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to sanctification. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in those things for which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now, having been freed from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
